About the event

Peter Lambert from Discover Guildford is a trek leader (he took us on a little trek around Shere and Chilworth not long ago) and has suggested to take Evolve members on a Snowdon trek, heading to Wales on 26th April for the weekend.

These are his notes, let me know if you're interested because we would need to provisionally book hotels asap.

"The weekend will consist of travelling to Betws Y Coed on the Friday afternoon and dropping our bags at the hotel which will be about £80-85 (based on 2 people sharing a room for 2 nights) and then going out for a potter around Llyn Elsi which is a woodland walk to a natural reservoir above Betws.

This is around 3 miles and is designed to stretch our legs. We will then have an evening meal at Y Stables in Betws and carb-up before the main event.

On Saturday it is an early start as we travel to Llanberis to park and begin our trek up the Llanberis path to the Summit. Layers will be needed as the weather can be unpredictable and light waterproofs are a must. I will provide the full kit list.

Depending upon the weather I shall guide us down the Miners track which is a little bit more complex but a great route and involves a little bit of scrambling. We will pass some beautiful lakes and if warm enough have a little paddle. We continue to Pen-Y-Pass car park and catch the bus back to Llanberis before driving back to the Hotel.

Sunday if everyone fancies it we will go to Swallow Falls before heading back"

Let me know if you're interested, I've set up a WhatsApp group for it with Peter in so you can ask questions there.
